BLACK LIVES MATTER
As a collective founded by and for POC artists, we are devoted to joining the Black Lives Matter movement in the fight against systemic racism.
Our team is currently exploring and educating ourselves on how to organize and mobilize our community and resources in a meaningful way.
Want to get involved? There are many organizations that have been mobilizing against systemic racism for years. Reach out and follow their lead. Here are a couple you can start with:
Black Lives Matter - Join the Movement to fight for Freedom, Liberation and Justice by signing up for updates, supporting work, checking out resources, following them on social media, or wearing BLM official gear.
The Okra Project - A collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.
Black Lives Matter NY - Read The Black Act - Legislation and demands on Policing, Education, Environment, Government, Housing, and Incarceration. This agenda was compiled with legislation presented by various activist throughout the Country.
The Audre Lorde Project - A Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color community organizing center, focusing on the New York City area.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 throughout NYC, all in-person events have been suspended indefinitely. Please practice social distancing and help us protect the most vulnerable members of our society. If you must go outside for work, groceries, or medication, be sure to consult the NYC Health Department's policies.
Our team is taking this time to slow down and check in with our loved ones. We encourage you to do the same, and hope everyone is safe and healthy.

WHO WE ARE
Fail Better NYC is a developmental POC centric community of multi-disciplinary artists who safely experiment together with their unfinished, messes-in-progress. We welcome you to share your new or revisited work with us in our free workshops where failure is destigmatized and productive mistakes are embraced: Fail Better Reading Series, Storytime, Quiet Time, and 1st Draft Series. Each program encourages artists to fail and grow through cold readings, unpolished performances, and constructive feedback tailored to their respective needs.
